Apple and Google have temporarily banned users from listening to recordings. That is, the employees of the company will no longer listen to the recordings of Apple Siri and Google Assistant.
Apple has decided to stop recording Siri for some time. Some time ago, there came a report that some people hear Siri Conversation as Apple’s third party contractor. However, the argument was that they are heard of quality control. Apple has said that this program is being suspended worldwide. The company was preparing to release a software update from which users will get this option so that they can opt-out of the Siri Grading program.
An Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch, “We are committed to giving people a better Siri experience, along with protecting the user’s privacy.” We have suspended Siri Grading globally. As a future software update, users will get this option to participate or not.
Google has also announced to stop the program listening to the recordings of Google Assistant for some time. Recently, it was reported that recordings of Google Assistant listen to Google’s implosion. Quality control was also behind this. It was argued that this makes the assistant better.
Following this report, Germany’s Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information took steps against these manual audits of Google. In its garden, Google has said that it is being stopped for some time.
A Google spokesperson has said that the company has Pause Language Review. This means that after the investigation is over, the company can start it again. Since it is still under investigation, it was not possible to continue at the moment.
Google has said that the company is in touch with the Hamburg Data Protection Authority and talks are underway on how to do an audio review and let users understand where data is used. The company has also said that such a review helps to improve the voice recognition system.
